Cellulose
Acetate Filament Yarns
The main end-uses
for Acetate are women s wear apparel fabrics and woven
linings. They are pleasant and comfortable to wear and
they let the skin breathe. Acetate yarns offer an excellent
drape, luster and brightness.
Fabrics made of Acetate and Triacetate have the appearance
and touch of silk.
Triacetate fabrics
in particular, are resistant to shrinkage and creasing.
They can be permanently pleated and given a moiré
effect. They have good dye fastness and anti-static properties.
The yarns can be textured and twisted, and they perform
well during the processes of weaving and knitting where
the rather low tenacity of the yarn is compensated by
its high extensibility and elasticity.
Cellulose acetate yarns can be
used in almost any apparel fabric, from classic to fluid
jersey and luxurious velvets. |
